OUR CRAFT

Thoughtfully made. From yarn to wear.

Every pair of tights and socks begins with decisions you can feel: the yarn against your skin, the stretch as you move, and the seams that sit closest to your body.

At HONGTEYA, we bring our manufacturing experience to these details, with comfort, fit, and durability guiding the process.

The people and processes behind every pair.

Our manufacturing operation brings together product development and production, connecting the initial sample with the finished garment. Across the process, our focus stays with the person who will wear it.

The right yarn changes everything.

The feel of hosiery begins long before the first stitch. Fiber composition, yarn fineness, and yarn construction influence how the finished fabric looks, stretches, and feels against the skin.

Fine filament yarns can create a smooth, sheer appearance. Other yarn constructions bring more texture, coverage, or softness. Elastic yarns contribute stretch and recovery, working with the knitted structure to shape the fit.

Our approach considers these elements together. The aim is to choose a combination suited to the product and the way it will be worn—from lightweight tights to warmer layers and everyday socks.

Fit takes shape, stitch by stitch.

Knitting turns yarn into a connected structure of loops. The size and arrangement of those loops, together with yarn feeding and tension, influence the fabric’s stretch, coverage, and surface appearance.

Different products call for different constructions. A sheer pair of tights needs a different balance from an opaque style. Socks may incorporate ribbed cuffs, shaped heels, patterns, or cushioning, depending on their intended use.

Machine settings and product specifications work together to create that structure. The finished result depends on matching the yarn, equipment, and knitting program to the design.

Each stage shapes the next.

A well-made pair of tights or socks depends on how its production stages connect.

Development establishes the intended dimensions and construction. Knitting creates the fabric and form. Assembly, coloring, finishing, and setting then bring the product toward its finished appearance and feel.

The route varies by style. Patterned socks may use yarns colored before knitting, while other hosiery is dyed after knitting or assembly. Thermal styles require additional consideration for their inner surface or lining.

Our end-to-end approach connects these decisions throughout production, keeping the intended product at the center of the process.

Precision where it matters.

Fine hosiery brings small construction details close to the body. Yarn feeding, stitch formation, and the handling of delicate fabric all contribute to the finished result.

Beyond knitting, seam placement, toe closure, waistband construction, and finishing influence how a garment sits and feels. These details need to suit the style: a lightweight dress sock and a fleece-lined pair of tights have different requirements.

Our focus is on bringing those choices together into a considered whole—fabric, fit, and finishing that serve the same purpose.

FROM YARN TO FINISHED PAIR

01 / Product Development

Designed around everyday wear.

We begin with the intended use, considering the feel, coverage, proportions, and size range. Samples help translate those choices into a garment that can be assessed and refined.

02 / Yarn Selection & Preparation

Build the right foundation.

Fiber composition, yarn fineness, and elastic construction are selected to suit the style. Yarn preparation supports consistent feeding into the knitting process.

03 / Knitting

Turn yarn into structure.

Yarns are formed into connected loops. The knitting construction establishes the fabric’s texture, stretch, and coverage, with shaping or pattern details incorporated where the design calls for them.

04 / Assembly & Seaming

Bring the garment together.

Depending on the product, this stage can include toe closure, joining knitted leg sections, or adding a gusset. The joining method and seam position are matched to the construction.

05 / Color & Finishing

Develop the finished look and feel.

Coloring, washing, and finishing follow the needs of the material and style. Some products begin with dyed yarns; others receive their color later in production.

06 / Thermal Construction

Create a warmer inner layer.

For thermal styles, a brushed surface or lining adds a different dimension to the construction. Its material, texture, and thickness influence warmth, softness, and bulk.

07 / Shaping & Setting

Establish the finished form.

Where appropriate, hosiery is placed on forms and treated with controlled steam or heat. This helps establish its finished shape and presentation.

08 / Inspection & Packing

Complete the final details.

Finished products are reviewed for relevant details such as appearance, dimensions, seams, and labeling before being prepared for packing.

CARE THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS

Quality begins with the details.

For us, quality starts with a clear product specification and continues through the choices made in production.

Comfort depends on the interaction of material, construction, and fit. Durability depends on the finished garment and how it is worn and cared for. Neither can be explained by a single fiber, machine, or manufacturing step.

We continue to refine these details with everyday use in mind, focusing on the qualities that matter when a product becomes part of your routine.

The care behind what you wear.

From the yarn we select to the construction we develop, our purpose remains close to everyday life: making tights and socks that feel considered, comfortable, and suited to the people who wear them.

For you, For Yours
