ABOUT US

For you, For Yours

Our story begins with Hongya.

In 2012, Angelia and her husband, Trey, founded HONGTEYA with a simple wish: to open a small shop of their own, make clothing well, and help people feel comfortable in what they wear.

Angelia’s studies in fashion design gave the brand its professional foundation. Her grandmother’s careful approach to making clothes gave it something more personal: an example of care worth carrying forward.

The Name Behind the Brand

HONGTEYA takes its name from Hongya, a name Angelia’s grandmother loved to use.

We placed “TE,” the opening letters of “textile,” within Hongya to create HONG-TE-YA. Her name connects us to memories of home. Those two letters connect that memory to fabric and making clothes.

Together, they express what we hope to continue: the attention she gave each garment, carried into the things people wear today.

From Our Family to Yours

As we came to understand more of our customers’ needs, we began thinking about how that care could reach further into everyday life. Becoming parents made the question more personal.

Children grow quickly. Clothes can be outgrown while they still have plenty of wear left in them. Seeing this in our own family led us to consider children’s changing needs and explore clothing for different stages of growing up.

Choosing clothes for ourselves and our children brought us back to the same questions. Does the fabric feel comfortable against the skin? Does the size fit well? How does the garment hold up to regular wear and washing?

Each person’s needs are different. Each deserves careful consideration.

Care That Continues

Today, we bring that attention to HONGTEYA’s everyday designs.

We consider how clothing feels on the body, how it fits into daily routines, and how it is worn and cared for. Comfort, fit, and durability guide our ongoing improvements.

Nature inspires our colors, textures, and sense of ease. More responsible material choices are also part of our development plans, pursued product by product as we evaluate their suitability and performance.

From Hongya’s small shop to our own family and the everyday lives of our customers, her care remains the thread we hope to carry forward.

We hope you find something you feel good choosing for yourself—and think of us again when choosing for someone you love.
